Obviously, I don't want to identify my coworkers by their real names. That would be mean, and would probably get me fired.
I am one of two copy editors in the newsroom. There are four reporters, two paginators, and our boss.
Violet is what we're going to call the other copyeditor. She's sarcastic and lots of fun.
Rose is our business reporter. She and Violet and I get along well, because we all have a similar sense of humor.
Lily is one of the paginators. She and Fergus are in a feud. (The other paginator is only here part time, and features very little in any day to day drama.)
Fergus is the crime reporter. He's also racist, which I would not say without proof, and certain that he's always working much harder than the rest of us.
Farquad is a general assignment and education reporter. He thinks he's hot stuff. He is not.
Wakeen is our newest recruit. He's the nonprofit reporter, and seems nice so far. Only time will tell the level of his personal crazy.
All the stories are 100% true, with some details changed to protect identities and my job.
